American writer, Augusten Burroughs, has certainly lived a most peculiar life. Who the hell could live with the craziest family in the history of cinema, the Finches, and become such a brilliant writer? At times surreal and grotesque, and sometimes very funny and warm, Running with Scissors reminded me of The Royal Tenenbaums. Look for the “turd pointing to God” sequence, one of the funniest and saddest pieces you’ve seen all your life. Beautiful soundtrack. Omid Nikfarjam
